Graph transformation in engineering design: an overview of the last decade

Abstract In engineering and architecture, different approaches have been developed that share the use of graph transformation to automate design processes or search for solutions by means computational synthesis. order give an overview these approaches, we provide a review articles published in last decade. Forty-eight were reviewed determine similarities differences approaches. Research fields method development representation problems processing transformations, as well application transformations engineering, shape grammars identified. Different documentation vocabulary rules examined. Finally, rule applications analyzed. Based on found limitations, future research directions are suggested.
